From The Mystic Dream to Datura Trading

What a long, strange trip it’s been.

If you are receiving this as an email, it’s because you previously signed up for our newsletter, back when we were “The Mystic Dream.”

For more than thirty years, we were a brick-and-mortar retail store and metaphysical center in downtown Walnut Creek, CA. We were a staple of the Walnut Creek Downtown, offering books, spiritual products, and services to the greater San Francisco East Bay. When COVID struck, we shuttered our doors with the intention of re-opening after it was deemed safe to do so, but when the pandemic lockdowns stretched on, we adapted to an online-only business model and decided to re-brand as “Datura Trading Co.”

In the years since we closed the shop, we (co-owners Chas Bogan, Storm Faerywolf, Devin Hunter, and Mat Auryn) have been collectively focused on our individual author careers, while making available our unique products and services through our store’s website, as well as that for our Modern Witch University, where we offer classes online. Now that we have discovered Substack, we hope to include more regular updates about our stock as well as events.
